Directions to Norwich
CAR
The NRP is west of Norwich with main road links being the A11, the A47 and the A140. Norwich is about 100 miles northeast of London - by car from London take the M11/A11. At the Thickthorn junction just outside Norwich take the A47 (Southern Bypass) in the direction of Swaffham; the University is signposted off at the next exit. If you are driving from the North or the Midlands, you can use the A17/A47 via King's Lynn, or the A14 as far as Newmarket and then take the A11 to Norwich. The NRP is situated on the western outskirts of Norwich, around two and a half miles west of the city centre, just off the Watton Road (B1108).
Local Directions
On arriving in the area, the easiest way to reach the NRP is to follow the A47 Southern Bypass until you reach the B1108 signed for the University. Follow the B1108 towards Norwich for about 1 mile (1.6km) to a set of traffic lights. Directions from these traffic lights depend on which part of the Norwich Research Park you wish to visit: to reach the University of East Anglia continue on the B1108 for another half a mile and the main entrance to the university campus is on the right; for John Innes Centre, Institute of Food Research, Sainsbury Lab or Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital take the righthand turn at the traffic lights into Colney Lane (sign 'Norwich Research Park'). The main entrance to the John Innes Centre and Sainsbury Lab is right at the next set of traffic lights (about 100m, just over the brow of the hill). The entrance to Institute of Food Research is left at the same lights. The Norfolk and Norwich University Hospital is a further 400 m along Colney Lane and is accessed at the next roundabout.
Car Parking
Car Parking at UEA and N&NUH is on a Pay and Display basis in the main car parks. Parking at JIC, SL and IFR is free for bona fide visitors.
