Norwich Research Park Companies

In addition to the University, research institutes and hospital, the Norwich Research Park is also home to a thriving community of businesses.  These range from spin-out companies commercialising discoveries made from research at the NRP, commercial enterprises of the NRP member institutions, to companies who have moved to the NRP to take advantage of the facilities and the strength of the science base in the Park.

The interests of the companies on the NRP are varied, and range from DNA marker technologies and drug discovery to weather forecasting, trademarks and patents to informatics and computer modelling.

A selection of our companies are listed on the left hand tool bar with links to further information and websites.

Locating your business on the NRP

Accommodation is available across the site for organisations or companies wishing to benefit from close proximity to the academic excellence and facilities on the NRP.

High quality laboratory and office space is on offer, both for start-up and relocating companies. The purpose-built Norwich Bio-Incubator is based on the John Innes Centre site and provides 20,000 square feet of serviced bioscience facilities, along with business development support from expert advisors.

The Bio-Incubator is divided into 12 separate laboratories (ranging from 550-1000 square feet), each with an office suite available if required.  Additional support services are available, including biological, chemical and radiological waste management, high bandwidth internet access and IT support.

For those wishing to test out a concept for a molecular biology based business, small areas of ready equipped lab space can be rented on a short term basis.

Smaller units of accommodation are available across the site for smaller organisations; in addition there is agreed planning permission for a further 6 bespoke buildings for businesses to be built on the site.

Space is also available for companies elsewhere on the NRP - please contact Robin Daniels for information.

Our fellow EEDA Enterprise Hub, the Hethel Engineering Centre, also has space for developing young companies.
